Therapy for Deeper Healing. Psychology for Peak Performance.
INSIGHT. UNDERSTANDING. trust. COMPASSION.
You’ve tried everything to keep it all together—self-help books, podcasts, talking to friends, maybe you’ve even tried therapy before, but nothing is helping…
The alarm bells of anxiety are still ringing. Your mind and body can’t seem to quiet and never feel easeful. Your happiness, your wellbeing, your relationships, maybe even your sanity are suffering. You are not alone and there is a pathway to happiness, freedom, and living a life that feels meaningful and satisfying. Dr. Sierra can help you find it.
You’ve spent years trying so hard. You are driven; intelligent; you have friends and family; you manage kids, work, school, obligations and responsibilities. But on the inside, you don’t feel put together. You may feel anxious, exhausted, overwhelmed, stuck in self-doubt, uncertain about your worth or value. Perhaps you feel like no matter how much you prove yourself, it’s never enough so you have to keep taking on more and more, always trying to please others. Maybe your mind races, you worry all the time, and it’s hard to truly sleep. You may feel dissatisfied, disconnected, or disengaged from your family, your friends, your profession, or from the many roles you play in life. Because you feel on edge, are tired, and are feeling so disconnected, you maybe find "hits” of dopamine through drinking, shopping, eating, or other behaviors that end up causing more harm than good and possibly cause you to feel embarrassment, guilt, or shame. I get it. I’ve been there.
Therapy offers a safe, supportive space to explore, with honesty and clarity, what’s really going on beneath the surface to begin creating meaningful, lasting change.
As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and couples who feel overwhelmed by responsibility and the expectations of others, and likely their own expectations. When most of my clients first meet me, they complain that they can’t relax or let things go, they constantly worry about the future, they have repeated loops of intrusive thoughts or images, they have a voice in their head that tells them how they are failing or not doing enough or need to prove themselves to others to be loved. They struggle with addictive or compulsive behaviors that provide them temporary relief from the stress and anxiety, but the good feelings don’t last for long. Really, at the heart of it, all of my clients start therapy sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.
Many of my clients were raised in families where there were unhealthy or unhelpful patterns of communicating and relating. Many were raised in homes where one or both parents loved their kids, but they lacked the tools or capacity necessary to create a stable, consistent, attentive, attuned, supportive environment. Not sure if this applies to you? Click HERE to learn more about how the relational patterns that you experienced as a kid and that were modeled for you may be contributing to your current struggles.
